The Kazakh National University of Water Management and Irrigation (KazNUWMI) is actively expanding its international partnerships to strengthen academic excellence, research capacity, and global engagement in the field of water management, irrigation, and environmental sustainability. Key Partner Institutions and Initiatives

Óbuda University (Hungary): Development and implementation of a dual-degree program in “Water Diplomacy”, focusing on transboundary water cooperation and negotiation skills.
Corvinus University of Budapest (Hungary): Launch of student and faculty exchange programs and collaborative modules in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and water governance.
Lund University (Sweden): Joint scientific projects in water resources and sustainable infrastructure, and guest lectures by international faculty to enhance academic excellence.
Michigan State University (USA): Collaboration in research on water management, environmental monitoring, and climate resilience, complemented by guest lectures and training workshops from leading experts.
Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (Russian Federation): Implementation of dual-degree education programs in various areas of water resources and hydrotechnical engineering.
Yugra State University (Russian Federation): Establishment of a dual-degree Master’s program in “Geoecology”, integrating environmental and hydrological research.

Mobility and Research Opportunities

KazNUWMI’s internationalization strategy includes the annual provision of 10–15 competitive grants to support student and faculty participation in study programs, internships, and research projects abroad.
