About the position

This vacancy is open to candidates across the full academic ladder — from Senior lecture to Professor level (or equivalent). Applicants are required to indicate a preferred title. The final position level will be confirmed by the University's Selection Committee based on the candidate's qualifications, publications, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching courses on vehicle design, vehicle operation, maintenance and repair, diagnostics, automotive fleet organization, fleet management, and related subjects at the bachelor's and master's levels.
  • Participating in the development and updating of course curricula and teaching materials in line with the program's goals and learning outcomes, and the requirements of state educational standards, the national and sectoral qualifications frameworks, and professional standards in road transport.
  • Updating course content to reflect current trends: Vehicle Telematics, Fleet Analytics, Predictive Maintenance, Intelligent Transport Systems, ESG Transport, Electric Vehicles, connected transport, and digital fleet management.
  • Supervising term papers and theses on vehicle diagnostics, digital fleet monitoring, telematics, equipment lifecycle management, and sustainable transport operation.
  • Participating in the university's research and applied projects and collaborating with transport companies, service providers, logistics operators, and transport infrastructure organizations.

Requirements

Education

  • Possession of a PhD degree or an equivalent degree, in road transport, transport vehicle operation, transport engineering and technology, mechatronics, transport engineering, vehicle technical service, or related fields.
  • A related specialization may be accepted if the subject of the dissertation, publications, taught courses, and professional experience relates to vehicle operation and diagnostics, technical service, fleet management, telematics, transport analytics, or electric transport.

Experience

  • Academic and teaching experience in accordance with the requirements for academic teaching staff positions established by the university's internal regulations and the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Language requirements

English language proficiency is desirable.

Key competencies

  • In-depth understanding of vehicle design, components and systems, operational characteristics, and the principles of technical operation of vehicles.
  • Expertise in organizing maintenance, repair, diagnostics, and service support for vehicles and vehicle fleets.
  • Professional competence in automotive fleet management, vehicle operation, and ensuring the operability of transport equipment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in road transport, operational safety, and technical service.
  • Ability to translate these competencies into high‑quality teaching and student supervision at all levels of higher education
