Academic Faculty Position in “English Language”

Responsibilities

• Teach English language courses for undergraduate students within the teaching load established by the Academic Unit and the University.
• Develop and update course syllabi in accordance with the State Compulsory Standards of Higher Education (SCS HE) and the University’s internal regulations.
• Participate in methodological, educational, and career-guidance activities of the Academic Unit.

Requirements

• Education: Higher education in “Foreign Language”, “English Language”, or “Translation Studies”; a Master’s academic degree or an academic/scientific degree is desirable.
• Experience: Prior experience teaching English in higher education institutions is an advantage.
• English proficiency at least at Upper-Intermediate level, confirmed by an international certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, etc.).
• Proficiency in the state language (Kazakh) at a level sufficient for teaching undergraduate courses; fluency in Russian is desirable.

Key competencies

• Knowledge of modern English language teaching methodologies.
• Skills in developing teaching and methodological materials and organizing students’ independent work.

Advantages

Experience teaching English for Academic and Professional Purposes (EAP/ESP) is an advantage.
