About the position

This vacancy is open to candidates across the full academic ladder — from Senior lecture to Professor level (or equivalent). Applicants are required to indicate a preferred title. The final position level will be confirmed by the University's Selection Committee based on the candidate's qualifications, publications, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching courses related to hydrology of arid and semi-arid zones, surface and groundwater resources, droughts and climate risks.
  • Developing and updating teaching materials and curricula on sustainable water resources management in arid regions.
  • Conducting research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals; participating in national and international research projects and grants.
  • Supervising master's and PhD students in topics related to arid and semi-arid hydrology.
  • Applying hydrological modelling, drought analysis, assessment of surface and groundwater resources, as well as GIS and/or remote sensing methods in research.
  • Contributing to partnerships with industry and governmental bodies on issues of sustainable water use in arid regions.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in hydrology, water resources engineering, environmental sciences or a closely related field.
  • Proven academic and teaching experience in hydrology of arid and semi-arid zones.
  • A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals relevant to the position (preferably indexed in international databases).
  • Experience in hydrological modelling, drought analysis and assessment of surface and groundwater resources.
  • Skills in GIS and/or remote sensing for research in arid regions.
  • Experience in teaching relevant courses and supervising student research.
  • English language proficiency is desirable.
