About the position

This vacancy is open to candidates across the full academic ladder — from Senior lecture to Professor level (or equivalent). Applicants are required to indicate a preferred title. The final position level will be confirmed by the University's Selection Committee based on the candidate's qualifications, publications, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching courses on mechanical engineering technology, process design, design of parts and assemblies, production automation and mechanization, robotics, CAD/CAM systems, and CNC technologies, Industry 4.0, and Smart Manufacturing at the bachelor's and master's levels.
  • Participating in the development and updating of course curricula in line with the program's goals and learning outcomes for EP 6B07117, and the requirements of state educational standards, the national and sectoral qualifications frameworks, and professional standards.
  • Updating course content to reflect current trends: Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing, Digital Factory, Industrial IoT, Additive Manufacturing, Digital Twin, Industrial Data Analytics, ESG approaches, Advanced CNC Programming.
  • Supervising term papers and theses on digital mechanical engineering, additive manufacturing, digital twins, and production data analysis.
  • Participating in research projects and collaborating with mechanical engineering enterprises and industrial partners in the region.

Requirements

Education

  • Possession of a PhD degree or an equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, automation, robotics, mechatronics, industrial engineering, or related fields.
  • A related specialization may be accepted provided the experience relates to mechanical engineering production, automation, Industry 4.0, or digital manufacturing.

Experience

  • Academic and teaching experience in accordance with the requirements for academic teaching staff positions established by the university's internal regulations and the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Language requirements

English language proficiency is desirable.

Key competencies

  • In-depth understanding of the principles of designing technological processes, sections, and workshops of mechanical engineering production.
  • Expertise in using CAD systems and CAD/CAM/CAE systems for design and technological preparation of production.
  • Professional competence in developing CNC control programs, robotics, and automation.
  • Understanding of production management principles with regard to quality, safety, and efficiency requirements.
  • Ability to translate these competencies into high‑quality teaching and student supervision at all levels of higher education
