About the position

This vacancy is open to candidates across the full academic ladder — from Senior lecture to Professor level (or equivalent). Applicants are required to indicate a preferred title. The final position level will be confirmed by the University's Selection Committee based on the candidate's qualifications, publications, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching courses in mechanical engineering technology, technological process design, production automation, product quality management, metalworking, and related subjects at the master's level.
  • Developing and regularly updating course syllabi and instructional materials in line with the learning objectives and outcomes of the program, and the requirements of state educational standards, national and sectoral qualifications frameworks, and professional standards in mechanical engineering production.
  • Updating course content to reflect current directions: CAD/CAM/CAE systems, additive technologies (metal 3D printing), Smart Manufacturing, digital twins of production processes, and Industry 4.0 principles.
  • Supervising master's theses on optimizing technological processes, production automation, digitalization of mechanical engineering enterprises, and product quality management.
  • Participating in the university's research and applied projects, and collaborating with mechanical engineering enterprises in the region and industry technology partners.

Requirements

Education Requirements

  • Possession of a PhD degree or an equivalent degree in mechanical engineering technology, machinery and materials processing technology, production process automation, or related fields.
  • A related specialization may be accepted if the topic of the dissertation, publications, taught courses, and professional experience relates to the design of technological processes, automation of mechanical engineering production, or quality management.

Experience Requirements

  • Academic and teaching experience in accordance with the requirements for academic teaching staff positions established by the university's internal regulations and the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Language requirements

English language proficiency is desirable.

Key competencies

  • In-depth understanding of the principles of designing technological processes for machining, assembly, and quality control of mechanical engineering products; ability to teach relevant disciplines at a current methodological level.
  • Knowledge of methods for standardizing technological processes and calculating production capacity, with the ability to train students in their practical application.
  • Understanding of quality standards in mechanical engineering, including ISO 9001 requirements and sectoral standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • Knowledge of the principles of production process automation and the ability to incorporate them into course content.
  • Ability to translate these competencies into high‑quality teaching and student supervision at all levels of higher education

Advantages

  • CAD/CAM/CAE systems: familiarity with computer-aided design and engineering analysis systems (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS, Mastercam) at a level sufficient for teaching relevant courses and supervising student design work.
  • Additive technologies: understanding of additive manufacturing principles (metal and polymer 3D printing) and their application in mechanical engineering.
  • Smart Manufacturing: knowledge of the "smart manufacturing" concept, including the use of IoT sensors and production data collection systems.
  • Digital production twins: understanding of the concept of digital twins for technological processes and production lines.
  • Industry 4.0: understanding of the principles of the fourth industrial revolution as applied to mechanical engineering production, including robotization and cyber-physical systems.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, or included in the KKSON RK list, relevant to the vacancy's field.
  • Participation in research projects, grants, or applied developments related to the field.

Selection process

selection process includes interview, presentation of the teaching course and research work to be conducted
