KazNUWRI invites applications for Postdoctoral Researcher positions across all eight Schools: School of Water Resources Engineering; School of Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal; School of Irrigation and Agricultural Water Management; School of Hydrology, Ecology and Environment; School of Architecture and Construction; School of Energy and Natural Resources; School of Water Resources Policy and Public Administration; and School of Remote Sensing and Artificial Intelligence.
About the position
The Postdoctoral Researcher will undertake independent and collaborative research within one or more of KazNUWRI's Schools. The successful candidate will also be invited to contribute to teaching and will participate in academic collaboration and mentorship activities.
Responsibilities
Conduct high-quality independent and collaborative research aligned with the chosen School's research direction
Contribute to peer-reviewed publications in relevant research areas
Participate in academic mentorship activities
Collaborate with faculty and research teams within the University
Contribute to teaching activities as invited
Engage in conference participation and scholarly dissemination
Requirements
PhD awarded within the last 5 years, or nearing completion, in a discipline aligned with one or more of KazNUWRI's Schools. Relevant fields include, but are not limited to: water resources management, water resources engineering, hydraulic and civil engineering, environmental engineering, hydrology, remote sensing/AI for water applications, and economics of water resources and water governance
Peer-reviewed publications in the relevant research area
Academic proficiency in English
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a research team
Conditions
Contract: Fixed-term appointment of 1–2 years, with the possibility of renewal
