​About the Programme

​Water is not just a resource — it is a foundation for cooperation, diplomacy, and sustainable development. Effective management of shared water resources is essential for ecological balance, social well-being, and regional stability.Recognizing this, KazNUWMI and Corvinus University of Budapest have jointly launched a Double Degree Programme in Water Resources Management, with a specialization in Water Diplomacy.The programme aims to train a new generation of professionals who can address the challenges of water scarcity, transboundary management, and climate change through an integrated understanding of engineering, economics, and diplomacy.

​Semester 1​

​Corvinus University (Budapest, Europe):

Students begin with courses in management, economics, and diplomacy, gaining an understanding of European water policy and governance frameworks.

​Semester 2

​KazNUWMI (Taraz, Kazakhstan):

Focus on engineering and water-related disciplines, hydrology, water law, and the management of shared water basins in Central Asia. Students conduct research under joint supervision from both universities, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges in water diplomacy and resource management.
