The School of Water Resources and Engineering focuses on the design, operation, and sustainable management of complex water resource systems — from dams, reservoirs, and irrigation networks to hydraulic and environmental infrastructure.
The School integrates scientific research, innovation, and professional training to support Kazakhstan's water security and climate resilience goals.

Lead the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in hydraulic and water resources engineering;
Define and implement the School's research strategy, securing external funding and fostering international collaboration;
Recruit, mentor, and support academic staff; oversee performance review and professional development;
Ensure curriculum alignment with national educational standards and international accreditation requirements;
Represent the School in university governance bodies and in relations with government agencies, industry, and international partners;
Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic planning for the School;
Promote interdisciplinary work across the University's eight schools.

Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in hydraulic engineering, civil engineering, water resources engineering, or a closely related field;
Established research record with peer-reviewed publications and experience in funded research projects;
Proven academic leadership and administrative experience in higher education;
Strong understanding of water infrastructure, hydrological systems, and climate resilience;
Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders;
Proficiency in English; knowledge of Kazakh and/or Russian is an advantage.
